Where are the Bechers when You Need Them?
Over time I have become increasingly infatuated with the work of Bernd and Hilla Becher. I've even gotten my wife interested enough in their work to talk about purchasing a piece for our collection if we ever find anything affordable. (That's how we work. I do all the hard work, and she gets veto authority on any proposed purchase.)
Here's a piece of industrial machinery/infrastructure that calls out for documentation by them. But, then again, if it's not part of a typology (and could there be more than one of these things--what the hell is it, anyway?) would they be interested in photographing it?
